Students work on layout design in a number of courses I teach as well as in the student agency I advise. The work is mostly completed in Adobe InDesign with elements created by hand, in Illustrator, Photoshop, and sometimes photographed, and sometimes in partnership with a client and/or with other students. Some of the work shown below was created by non-design majors during the pandemic when my entire class was taught online. Those students were rock stars in my book.
